The study used a range of information sources and data developed, completed, or provided by representatives of STAREP countries and others involved in the STAREP Program to provide a comprehensive overview of accounting education programs and challenges in the six STAREP countries.

Supporting the development of accountants & finance professionals in its beneficiary countries is one of the main objectives of PULSAR Education Community of Practice (EduCop). The main source of financial capital available for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) throughout the region currently is through banks; by obtaining lines of credit, bank loans and other forms of debt. Alternative sources of capital are either non-existent or in very low supply.
