The Forum Beyond Compliance: Financial Reporting for Growth and Jobs will bring together around 90 participants from more than 11 countries across Europe and Central Asia. Participants include senior government officials and representatives of public oversight institutions, professional accountancy organizations, universities, and chambers of commerce and development partners.
The objective of the Forum is to advocate for financial reporting reforms that promote economic growth and job creation. Moving beyond the traditional focus on compliance, the Forum will examine how financial reporting, accounting, and auditing ecosystems can support investment readiness, access to finance, economic growth, and job creation. The Forum will explore how reliable, proportionate, and decision-useful financial information helps businesses and state-owned enterprises build trust, attract capital, manage resources, and pursue sustainable growth.
Structured over two days, the Forum will consider what investors, lenders, and business partners need from financial information, and how audit oversight can strengthen confidence in corporate reporting. It will examine how reporting requirements can meet fiduciary requirements while reducing unnecessary burdens, thereby helping SMEs become competitive and finance-ready. Sessions will show how financial reporting in state-owned enterprises can improve performance, help manage fiscal risks and mobilize private capital. Sessions on sustainability reporting, artificial intelligence, and digital technologies will explore how these developments can improve business and financing decisions while reshaping the skills and roles required of the accounting profession. Peer learning and country experience will help participants translate these themes into practical reform priorities and deeper regional cooperation.
The Forum is organized by the Center for Financial and Sustainability Reporting (CFRR) through the Road to Europe: Program of Accounting Reform and Institutional Strengthening for Small and Medium Enterprises (REPARIS for SMEs), and the Enhancing Accounting, Auditing, and Sustainability Reporting Program (EAASURE). The Forum is financed by the European Union, the State Secretariat for Economic Cooperation of Switzerland, the Ministry of Finance of Austria and the Austrian Development Cooperation Agency.
The event is per invitation only.
