The development objective of the program is to enhance corporate financial reporting practices and support the adoption and roll out of sustainability reporting in the ECA region.

The program focuses on supporting the ongoing reforms in corporate financial and non-financial (sustainability) reporting in ECA countries prioritizing Wester Balkan (Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo, Montenegro, North Macedonia, and Serbia) and EU Eastern Partnership (Armenian, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine) countries. The program is co-funded by Austrian Ministry of Finance and SECO and is focused on the following five thematic aspects: (i) Regulatory Frameworks; (ii) Sustainability Reporting, (iii) Monitoring and Evaluation; (iv) Building Institutional Capacity; and (v) State-owned Enterprises. The EAASURE program's activities in Western Balkan and other ECA countries will complement the other ongoing World Bank programs.
