The World Bank Centre for Financial Reporting Reform (CFRR), celebrating its 15th Anniversary, is organizing three joint events for the following Programs: (i) The Public Sector Accounting and Reporting Program (PULSAR), (ii) The Road to Europe: Program of Accounting Reform and Institutional Strengthening for Small and Medium Enterprises (REPARIS for SMEs) in the Western Balkans Countries, and (iii) The Strengthening Auditing and Reporting in the Countries of the Eastern Partnership Program (STAREP). The key event is the Ministerial Conference on November 30 accompanied by technical workshops on November 29 and December 1 for professionals and senior officials involved in all three programs.

November 29: Senior Officials' Workshop will convene about 150 high-level delegates, including senior government officials, policy makers  from participating countries, international development partners, professional and academic speakers, and experts from key international and EU institutions.  The Workshop aims to inform policymakers on the recent developments in financial and sustainability reporting, financial auditing in private and public sector; sustain political support for related reforms; and provide opportunities for networking and regional exchange of experience.

November 29: The seventh edition of the “Executive IFRS for Regulators Workshop” organized jointly by the CFRR and the IFRS Foundation will aim to enhance participants understanding of current and upcoming IFRS and provide them with tools to read IFRS financial statements. In addition, during the workshop Regulators will discuss the recent developments in sustainability reporting and compliance with Environment, Social and Corporate Governance (ESG) responsibilities. This workshop is designed for senior staff of regulatory agencies responsible supervising banks and insurance companies, as well as those in charge of drafting accounting and prudential regulations, the countries of the Western Balkans and the Eastern Partnership.

November 30: Ministerial Conference “Financial and Sustainability Reporting for Debt Transparency and a Resilient Recovery” is organized by the CFRR and hosted by the Ministry of Finance of Austria.

The Conference will convene about 250 high-level delegates, including Ministers of Finance, senior government officials, international development partners, high-level representatives from the public and private sectors, professional and academic communities, and experts from key international and EU institutions. The Conference will discuss how reliable and transparent financial and non-financial information in the public and private sectors can support improved decision making, debt transparency, and a resilient recovery in these challenging times.

December 1: Community of Practice Workshops are organized in two parallel sessions: (i) under PULSAR for public sector related issues and (ii) jointly under REPARIS for SMEs and STAREP for corporate reporting and public oversight.

The Communities of Practice Workshops will convene about 150 high-level delegates, including officials and practitioners from countries, professional and academic speakers, and experts from key international and EU institutions.  The Workshops aim to provide greater understanding of accounting and reporting requirements, good practices, present new developments in international standards, and discuss the next steps of the Programs.
