Advancing Insurance Accounting and Sustainability Reporting in North Macedonia
A five-day workshop convened North Macedonian insurance sector stakeholders in support of ongoing efforts to modernize insurance accounting and embrace sustainability reporting. Attended by 55 participants, the five-day event organized by the World Bank Centre for Financial and Sustainability Reporting Reform (CFRR) focused on International Financial Reporting Standard (IFRS) 17: Insurance Contracts. It was designed to equip industry professionals with a comprehensive understanding of the standard’s requirements, in anticipation of the mandated first implementation in 2028.
Montenegro ROSC A&A Dissemination Event
The Montenegro Accounting and Auditing Report on the Observance of Standards and Codes (A&A ROSC report), conducted by the World Bank team, was publicly disseminated on May 30, 2025, during the 10th International Symposium of Accountants and Auditors of Montenegro, held in Ulcinj.
Sustainability Reporting and IFRS for SMEs
The Sustainability Reporting and IFRS for SMEs workshop brought together 26 participants to learn and discuss about sustainability reporting in the European Union, including the transposition of the EU Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), the 12 European Sustainability Reporting Standards (ESRS), and the related Assurance Standard in the works.
Senior Officials’ Workshop: PULSAR, REPARIS for SMEs, STAREP
A World Bank Centre for Financial Reporting Reform (CFRR) Senior Officials’ Workshop took place in Vienna, Austria on November 29, 2022. It convened more than 140 high-level delegates of key CFRR programs, including senior government officials and policy makers from program countries, international development partners, professional and academic speakers, and experts from key international and European Union (EU) institutions.
