PULSAR Smart Interactive Talk "Accounting Education in the Public Sector: International Experiences and PAO Engagement" (Part 2)

Building on the success of the previous event on May 19, this SIT continued the discussion by exploring additional international models for Public Sector Accounting education and reviewing the local and regional approaches to promoting accounting education in the Public Sector from PAOs prospective. During the session, members had the opportunity to learn from one country outside of the region (Zambia) as well as two PULSAR countries (Albania and Georgia) and compare these experiences to other relevant models in the CoP member countries.

National Initiatives for Strengthening Accounting Education

On June 21-22, 2017, the World Bank’s CFRR organized the Workshop on the National Initiatives for Strengthening Accounting Education in Georgia. The event was organized within the Strengthening Auditing and Reporting in the Countries of the Eastern Partnership (STAREP) regional program, which is aimed to create a transparent policy environment and effective institutional framework for corporate reporting within the countries that make up the European Union’s Eastern Partnership: Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine.

Future-proofing accounting education in Russia: CFRR promotes revision of accounting education programs

A CFRR workshop in Moscow on October 17 highlighted the changing role and requirements of professional accountants and auditors, and the strategic benefit in ensuring they acquire and maintain relevant knowledge, skills, and experience for a successful career in an increasingly global marketplace.

Roundtable to discuss the content of the provisions of the new model of audit oversight function in Kazakhstan

A roundtable involving key stakeholders was organized by the World Bank and the Ministry of Finance of Kazakhstan under Joint Economic Research Program (JERP) on March 30, 2021. The event was attended by about 45 participants.

The key objective of the event was to discuss the content of the provisions of the new model of audit oversight function in Kazakhstan.

3rd PSA EduCoP Workshop

The 3rd Public-Sector Accounting and Reporting (PULSAR) Education Community of Practice (EduCoP) took place in Vienna from November 28-29, 2018 with the aim to improve training, education, and continuous professional development aligned with international standards and good practice in public sector accounting and reporting.

Skopje - Achieving Excellence in Accountancy Education: Sharing Good Practices and Opportunities for Reform

Over 50 stakeholders, including policymakers, representatives from the academia, the profession, regulators, private and public sector employers, business community, as well as development partners, met in Skopje on June 27, 2017 with a view to building consensus on, and facilitating in-county accountancy education reforms.
